Making a lifestyle portal trendy and user friendly

A lifestyle portal should be fresh, user friendly and easy to navigate. Zadovoljna.hr had great content but with outdated design. Their competition grew stronger and they asked us to help.
We covered and revised their wishlist in a UX workshop. We have also made an extensive research on the competition and defined the visual identity. We have decided to go with the mobile first design and a fresh new look.
We started the redesign with the new logo which is now in an elegant, clean, black typography. We continued with the light design throughout the whole page toning down the color, thus making it trendy and user friendly. All in all, we have managed to keep their recognizable visual identity, just made it modern, elegant and easy to read.
Articles on the home page were given a new surrounding which is now lighter, more fresh and with more white space making it easier on the eye. The flow of the page is more simple, the photos are bigger and we said goodbye to the sticky header. Changes were also made regarding the search box. It now comes in a full screen with intuitive real–time results using predicative functionality.
Galleries were retailored for easier navigation. We have made the captions and spacing bigger, and redesigned the photos into a more natural format.
In just two months after the redesign, Zadovoljna gained:
Pages per session increse on mobile.
Mobile pageviews increase.
Mobile gallery views increase.
On-site searches increase.
